8 August, 1:00 pm2:00 pm

| Free

Event Navigation

Tuesday 08 August 2017,  1pm – 2pm, in the  Djanogly Theatre, Lakeside, University of Nottingham campus. Free admission. Advance booking essential. Part of a series of free hour-long talks with professional palaeontologists, connected to and inspired by the Dinosaurs of China: Ground Shakers to Feathered Flyers exhibition.

In the nineteenth century, artists had to get to grips with extinct animals for the first time – with artists often walking a fine line between fact and fiction. As this talk by Richard Fallon will demonstrate, one wrong move could turn sober science into children’s entertainment.
