Causes of Contemporary Migration, Lakeside Arts

23 November , 1:00 pm

Tuesday 23 November, 1pm
Djanogly Theatre

As the world becomes ever more interconnected, migration becomes ever more fluid and complex and looks set to increase in the coming decades. This lecture by Dr Caleb Bailey will explore how forced migration has evolved. Migration during the colonial era had its roots in expanding territory, escaping persecution, or seeking greater economic prospects. In today’s world, migration now increasingly involves drivers such as conflict, climate change, environmental degradation, and food insecurity.
