The next meeting of the D. H. Lawrence Society will be on Wednesday 10th May 2017 at the usual time of 7.15pm in the upstairs room at the Horse and Groom pub, Moorgreen, NG16 2FE. The speaker will be Clive Leivers and his talk is entitled “The Chambers after the Haggs“.
Clives writes: “Edmund Chambers and family left the Haggs in April 1910 and moved to a farm in Arnold on the outskirts of Nottingham. While Jessie and two of her siblings stayed close to their parents, four others emigrated to Canada and made a new life there. My talk will give an account of their lives after the move from Haggs.”
Visitors are welcome, the Society asks that a small contribution is made to the collection at the end of the evening.
