Curator Dr Julia Farley will talk about her work on the current exhibition Celts: art and identity on Wednesday 13th January 2016 in the Djanogly Theatre commencing at 1:00pm. This is a FREE event but booking is required via the Box Office on 0115 8467777.
The exhibition in the British Museum runs from 24th September 2015 to 31st January 2016 and explores the art and objects made by the peoples of Iron Age Europe who were referred to by the ancient Greeks as Keltoi. It also follows the story of how the words Celts and Celtic came to be redefined after 1500 to refer to the languages, histories and traditions of the modern Celtic nations.
Dr Julia Farley is Curator of the European Iron Age Collections, Department of Britain, Europe and Prehistory at the British Museum
