On Tuesday 20th September 2016 there will be an excursion to Clifton Church and Sheffield Manor, led by Alan Langton.
The church of St Mary of Clifton is mentioned in Domesday, in 1476 the chancel was enlarged by Sir Robert Clifton, there is a stained glass window by Kempe and various alabaster tombs of the Clifton family.
Sheffield Manor was a hunting lodge which later became a grand Tudor manor house, home of the 4th Earl of Shrewsbury and lodging house for Cardinal Wolsey.
The cost including coach fare, coffee, lunch, tour guides and donations will be £40.
