NORTH EAST DERBYSHIRE INDUSTRIAL ARCHAEOLOGY SOCIETY
On Monday 10 April 2017 at 7:30pm at St Thomas’ Centre, Chatsworth Road, Brampton (opposite Vauxhall/Bristol St Motors) S40 3AW David Hulse will give a talk on ‘Francis Thompson’
David Hulse has written the biography of Francis Thompson, one of the most famous constructors of both Newcomen and Watt engines. David is ex-Chief Engineer for Royal Doulton, and over decades he has researched and painstakingly built highly accurate models of every conceivable type of 18th century steam engine. Francis Thompson lived and worked locally to us here, and his engines were built for many late-1700s mills and factories.
There’s plenty of parking in their own car park, including disabled spaces, as well as on-road parking in front of the Church.
