BOOKING REQUIRED http://store.nottingham.ac.uk/product-catalogue/schools-and-departments/humanities/the-history-festival-2017
Since the start of 2014, People’s Histreh have been working on a very extensive research project about those soldiers who served in the local regiment (then known as the Sherwood Foresters). They have identified 103 Foresters, two thirds convicted for their alleged involvement in mutinies, the others sentenced to death for various offences. Eight of these soldiers were executed by firing squad. In this talk, they will give you an overview of their research, outline our general take on the subject matter and present a few of their findings. 15
