As a Morley Union member Yvonne will present a more personal side to man and the legend that is Samuel Morley. As a genealogist she will be uncovering the lasting legacy of Samuel Morley and the brief summary of his substantial will and testament that served many social and political purposes to beneficiaries in Nottingham and London.

Morley Fashion Show – Young people from St Anns will showcase their handmade garments inspired by Morley textiles. Gallery 2:30pm – 3pm FREE.

The Morley Threads launch brings together all the connections and developments of The Samuel Morley Programme and celebrates the newfound associations, research and relevance to an important legacy of a forgotten local hero. The Morley Threads launch will provide a series of talks and events that explore Samuel Morley’s radical approach to social activism, human rights and industry, which include;

Backlit’s ‘Threads’ archive featuring digitized Morley artefacts, oral histories and video interviews from Morley factory workers.

Hot Knife have create an immersive in-house gaming environment that will recreate the history of Alfred House in the late 19th Century as a working cotton-spinning factory for I&R Morley in a unique Virtual Reality experience.

A community fashion show from young people in the local area.

Photographic exhibition of buildings and monuments in Nottingham relating Samuel Morley taken by workshop participants.

A physical display of Backlit’s Morley artefacts relating to Samuel Morley and I&R Morley from the 19th – 21st
