Lincoln Cathedral: The Biography of a Great Building, The Thoroton Society Special Lecture

Presented by Jonathan Foyle Architectural Historian and Broadcaster

Born in Lincolnshire and educated at The Deepings School before training as an architect, Jonathan Foyle is an advocate for heritage buildings and sites. His interest in medieval architecture arose from long cycle tours as a teenager around his home and adjoining counties.

Although best known as a broadcaster such as his 2010 TV series ‘Climbing Buildings’ Jonathan also writes for a number of newspapers and popular magazines as well as many scholarly papers. From 2007 to 2014, he was Chief Executive of the World Monuments Fund.

After Jonathan’s talk about Lincoln Cathedral, there will be a chance to chat accompanied by light refreshments and a glass of wine. The cost is £12 and tickets can be obtained from David Hoskins, 80 Balmoral Drive, Bramcote Hills, Nottingham, NG9 3FT (dhoskins@talktalk.net )
