Nottingham Mini Maintenance Co-Op training day for volunteers, community members, and places of worship of all faiths. A free practical training day on Saturday 25 March at Holy Trinity Lenton (Nottingham), 9.30am-4pm (refreshments and lunch included)

For anybody interested in finding out about the role that everyone can play in the maintenance and upkeep of their building, or interested in hearing about ways of getting involved.

Delivered by Stella Jackson and James Innerdale of SPAB (Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings)

Come along to:

  • Learn the basics of ‘Preventative Maintenance’, how to recognize important maintenance issues, and how to prioritize maintenance and upkeep activities
  • Find out more about the Maintenance Co-Operatives Project, how it can help you to look after your place of worship, and opportunities to volunteer locally
  • Learn how to carry out a building condition survey, and to plan routine checks on your building
  • Find out how local places of worship can share ideas, resources and volunteers to keep their buildings in good condition
  • Talk with staff from SPAB (Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings)
  • Carry out a practical condition survey of the Grade II listed Holy Trinity Church

For anyone:

  • Involved or interested in the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of their place of worship (of any faith, of any age, and whether or not listed)
  • Involved in the care and maintenance of any other building (regardless of age and size, and whether or not listed)
  • Interested in learning how by day-to-day, regular and seasonal tasks they can help to keep their building in good condition, spot and remove possible dangers, and quickly identify problems to prevent them from getting worse
  • Simply interested in the upkeep and maintenance of local buildings
  • Potentially interested in getting involved, or in volunteering on a casual basis to help local places of worship to look after their buildings
  • Who just wants to come along and see what it’s all about
