On Saturday 29 November at the Framework Knitters Museum, Ruddington, children will get the chance to knit and decorate a unique take on a Christmas stocking. This opportunity is available between 2 pm and 6 pm, and will cost £5. Entry to the museum will be free that day.
Using the historic hand-powered circular-knitting machines, the children will be able to knit their own tube of material. With the help of the museum volunteers this will then be sewn at one end, before the children decorate them with festive cheer and sparkle!
The event is part of a larger programme of activities planned to take place across the village between 3 pm and 6 pm, which will culminate with the turning on of the Christmas tree lights.
The museum is also holding a Victorian Christmas day, from 10 am to 6 pm, on Saturday 14 December. For more details visit http://www.frameworkknittersmuseum.org.uk.
