The next stage of Sherwood Forest on your Doorstep – the Perambulation Walk which takes place on Tuesday 21st June 2016 starts at the Snipe Pub near to Sutton-in-Ashfield, at 11.30 am.
The last stage involved quite arduous road walk – so we’re going to split this walk into 2 parts (whole route about 5 miles) .. the first half through industrial estate … and the second (more lush and relaxing!) through the country parks of Brierley Forest and Teversal. If you don’t want to walk the whole route, you can meet us at Brierley.
Here’s the itinerary.
meet 11.30 am at The Snipe pub, Alfreton Rd, Sutton-in-Ashfield NG17 1JE walk to Brierley Country Park Visitor Centre for around 1pm (lunch break)
meet 1.30 pm at Brierley Forest Park Visitor Centre, Skegby Rd, Huthwaite NG17 2PL. Walk to Teversal Trail Visitor centre about 1 1/2 hours.
We’re aiming for this walk to be relaxing … a celebration of the summer solstice and a chance to take in the wildflowers in these havens at the height of summer. Please bring a camera – we’d like to collect peoples’ photos …maybe put them on the Facebook page.
There will be transport back to both meeting points.
If you’d like to come please let me know … or just turn up!!
Thanks and hope to see you there
