On Saturday 24th June 2017 at 2.30 pm at the Ken Edwards Lecture Theatre, University of Leicester, Prof. Dawn Hadley will talk about the Viking Great Army and the origin of the borough of Torksey
The day is organised by the Friends of the Centre for English Local History who invite all those who attend to come back to the Marc Fitch Institute, Salisbury Road, for an opportunity to meet Professor Hadley, drink tea and eat cake. There is also an opportunity to browse the Friends bookstall, which has an eclectic selection of books at bargain prices.
Admission is free to members of the Friends, and £3.00 to non-members
