On Sunday 12th May 2019 INSPIRE on behalf on Nottinghamshire County Council will be hosting its seventh annual Local History Fair at Mansfield Central Library.
It will build on the success of our previous Local History Fairs, where local history societies and heritage groups from across the county converged on Mansfield, and were joined by children’s activities and demonstrations of local crafts. We aim to make the Local History Fair a real family day out and were delighted that our last couple of fairs have each attracted around 500 people.
Mansfield Library is open to the public on Sundays between 11am and 3pm, and there is also free parking on Sundays in the Four Seasons multi-storey car park next door.
Once again we will have local crafts, local history displays, and activities for children – continuing to establish the Great Nottinghamshire Local History Fair as an important showcase for local history in Nottinghamshire: a forum for heritage groups to celebrate Nottinghamshire history, promote their work, attract new members, sell their publications, and share expertise and experiences with other groups.
