At Newark Academy, London Road, Newark NG24 3AL on Thursday 2nd May 2019, 7.30 pm–9.00 pm Dr Paul Bahn will give an account of the search for, and discovery of, Britain’s first Ice Age cave art at Creswell Crags (Nottinghamshire /Derbyshire) in 2003. The engravings and bas-reliefs discovered have been dated to around 13,000 years ago, and are thus by far the oldest in Britain.
Tickets are available upon request, and we are inviting donations of £5 per person* on the night to help us with our essential costs relating to this event and our on-going work on Newark’s Ice Age past. (*No donations from students and people under 21).
