At Nottingham Local Studies Library, 1st Floor Central Library, Angel Row, Nottingham on Tuesday 6th August 2019, 10:00 to 12:00, there will be a talk by Panya Banjoko looking at the contribution of the British West Indian Regiment (BWIR) to the First World War

Panya has performed widely, including the 2012 Olympic Games, and as part of the award winning film, Brit I Am, directed by Andi Osho, and more recently as part of a BBC Documentary based on the Olympian Jamie Baulch. In 2008, Women in the Arts awarded Panya Outstanding Achievement in poetry and in 2016 C-Hub Magazine awarded her Best Performer. She is Founder/Director of a Nottingham Archive and coordinates a writer’s network.

Tea/coffee from 10:00 the talk will start at 10:30.

Forum meetings are FREE and normally take place four times each year.
